I have made graphics daily since 1995 which is
roughly 10 years now. That's why the archive
list is getting ridiculously long. My techniques
haven't changed much over the years though.
Basically the idea is to take an object, any object,
and make an association spring out of it. Boing!
Then keep repeating that for a week or so in the
space of X by X pixels and voila.. something is born.
Normally I never start out from a pre-thought idea.
Thats why every work is a complete surprise even to
me. I use any source material I happen to find:
photos, scans, drawings, whatever comes across
at any given moment. Some kind of digital mindflow.
... Anyway, here's some tips:
- Always accept money from strangers and share the
candy with your friends.
- Graphic design is like a box of chocolate. There are
different kinds and they all melt easily in the sun.
- Don't worry too much.
- A cube upside down is a cube but turn a bicycle on its
head and its sunglasses.
